This year the musical Society Produced ‘All Shook Up’
Members of the Bishopstown Community Musical Society traveled back in time to the fun-loving fifties for their production of ‘All Shook Up’. Following the success of last years show, this years musical ran for an extra night from the 12th – 14th of March. With extra interest this year, there were two casts with students sharing roles to ensure everyone got their time in the spotlight. Work began in October 2018 with students committing themselves to weekly rehearsals. A lot of work went in behind the scenes in stage production, costumes, stage management, set design and make up to create such a professional show. The show takes place in 1955, somewhere in middle America, where one girl’s dream and a surprise visit from a mysterious leather-jacketed, guitar-playing stranger help a small town to discover the magic of romance and the power of rock and roll. Songs such as ‘Heartbreak Hotel’, ‘Jailhouse Rock’ and ‘Hound Dog’ had audience members on their feet, singing along to Elvis’ greatest hits.
