The Final Try
By Kyle Kenefick
In the quiet town of Bishopstown, Highfield rugby was everywhere they were the local team and hadn't won a Munster cup in 22 years-until this season
John Bones jones a grizzled flanker nearing retirement led the team. His body was breaking, but his heart hadn’t slowed down. This was his last shot, and he knew it.
In the final match with seconds left on the clock Highfield trailed by 4 rain poured mud flew and john took a short pass just meters from the try line.
ONE LAST CHANCE
He slammed into the defender, pain flaring through his ribs, and stretched — planting the ball just over the line.
TRY!!!!!!!!
Highfield 19 – Bandon 18
Highfield has done it and john flat on his back in the mud knee he had given everything for that game and for his town.
